I learnt to dream

You said hi
why don't you come to visit
there's a sofa here
you can stay a while
and we can dream
and learn to live it
So I rocked up
on a cold damp night
to find you by the door
you said sorry I'm a mess
I just got dressed
had to pick myself up off the floor
And the story was there
in your eyes
the pain was black
there was no desguise
yet still you shone
my beautiful swan
a rose torn but not defeated
and like the last line of every song
your smile touched me deeply
and then you raised your hand
and touched my cheek
so softly and so sweatly
so i stayed a while
and learnt to dream
and together we began to live it.

Wow,

I was especially taken by the lines:

and like the last line of every song
your smile touched me deeply

Wonderful writing, indeed
