Tremont Street

Two bucks, a coffee,
and a kind word or two
to the pinkhaired waif
sitting on the sidewalk
outside St Paul's Episcopal

she smiles tenderly

I once saw such a waif standing against a stone wall in Sarlat La Caneda in France. She inspired poetry too, but she had no smile. I formed the impression she was 'as hard as nails'. Blessings, Allen
