enrichment of your ego,
a performance of power -
then you are no man at all.
Once, I might have pitied you.
Perhaps you were broken as a child.
That is an explanation,
not a life sentence.
Stop using excuses.
There is no justification
that can wipe away
the choices you are making.
This is on you -
not your parents,
not your grandparents,
not the women,
not whomever you choose
to lay your cruelty upon.
There is no truth
in calling yourself
a good Christian man
when you lose your temper
because she refuses
to cower.
Do better.
Be better.
Choose to be a good man.
A good man is kind.
He protects and guides,
not with power,
but with love.
That’s what Jesus did.
Be like Jesus.
You always have a choice.

Close your mouth.Lower your eyes.
