scene from the paddy fields where people are sowing rice

June and sowing season

much less of rice fields that are left
concrete jungles growing around
for I saw a little girl of seven
walking along the little muddy paths
in rice fields that lie watered to be sowed
the older generation stood by with tools
day long they had toiled hard
gen z looked with eyes open
and wondered what these millennials were doing
the mountains in front were green and high
I traversed fields on my bike
where the train honked from behind
