Housework Blues
As I sit here composin'poetry from the heart,
I have so much housework
I don't know where to start...
I've got the blues................
The house
work
blue ues.....
da daa daa daa da dat!
The kitchen needs moppin'
dishes lie in the suds
the counter needs wipin'
the dog tracked in the mud!
I've got the blues................
The house
work
blue ues.....
da daa daa daa dat!
The be'room calls for cleanin'
it's voice strangled by dust
sheets 'n blankets twisted
upon the bed in disgust.
I've got the blues................
The house
work
blue ues.....
da daa daa daa dat!
Oh, the bathroom is longin'
to be rid of its smell
the toilet needs scrubbin'
I'm surround by Hell!
I've got the blues................
The house
work
blue ues.....
da daa daa daa dat!
The laundry's pilin' up fast
growin' by night and day
creatin' a monster
I have no time to play...
I've got the blues................
The house
work
blue ues.....
da daa daa daa dat!
So I'll stop writin' now
push away from the screen
take a broom in my hand
and fly right out of this scene!
