this is dedicated to my son-n-law, my dragon slayer!

She Lived

she
lived once
in a dark
lonely silent
tower of prison
where he kept her hidden
from the world, torturing her
with his words and neglectful ways
chained to a cold, black, dead, heart of stone
she whithered, a rose on a severed vine
as she lay dying entombed in despair
he gallantly approached her with love
slaying the fierce dragon of fire
offering his gentle hand
she took it and trembled
he lifted her up
took her away
to freedom
where she
lived!

A wonderfrul testament to a true hero and a true heroine who burst upon a needy world with her beauty of words full of wit, wisdom and grace.

Wishful, romatic, endearing. Its wonderful that you can marry the past with your dreams for the future to create a wonderful piece of poetry.
