Love wretches the body: The wondering

What is the spark in us
That stems from the first glance
Of one who radiates what we seek

Such power
Greater than all can wield
Existent simply in the presence of the other

Many words have been said
We have toiled millennia away
Asking the very question

And it really does not matter how
Or why
We plainly open ourselves to it

How does it work?
Why does it happen?
What does it mean?

It may be science that
Ruins all poets ramblings
By discovering our chemical reaction

I will forever know
That while chemicals may be a part
There will always be the spark

The spark that takes hold of our gut
And gives out on our knees
And makes even the most eloquent incoherent

The spark controls us all
And we are only to accept it
Or conceal ourselves from all society
Forever more
