The empty road we all have walked

People lost looking along the empty road
Dust and dry
Cracked earth, scorching sun
Long empty road of their lives

The hounds are after them
Leashed but chains breaking
Metal twisting
Fangs and blood

What is the point
Empty road...
Horrendous death...
Unforgiving sky

Birth
Suffering
Death
Abyss...preferable

So many lost
So many consumed in their pain
An army marching they do become
Unaware, following the same path

Need not be saved
Need not see the light
Need not heed the warnings
Need see the luminescence within

Born without worry
No understanding
It is possible
Reach it again

Hiding from the world
But really hiding from themselves
Injustice on them?
Only from themselves

Hopeless
Regret
Fear
Suffering

Life
Is
What we
Make it

Conscience decision
To choose
To live
To live, free

Great ending! It was for freedom tha Christ came to set us free, ben. get straight with Him and you'll be free indeed. You ended your poem on a good note.
