this is not really a poem, it's (temporarily) a song without a melody, and it's one of the few lyrics I've written that's not based on my own experience. I'm working on more verses, but I'd like to hear what people think.


times of war

Chorus:
When the stars in the sky
are nowhere to be found
and the gunshots and bombs
are the only sounds

That's when you know
something's not right
That's when you know
there's a war outside

1. Constantly decaying
all they can tell us is "the world is changing"
but I know danger when I see it
'cause I see the hell
that this war brings with it
