Dedication to a beautiful person who played a large part in my life.

On Southern Grass.

As I lie upon this southern grass

There is sorrow in my heart

For one that was so dear to me

Has taken to depart

I look into the distant sky

So far it clouds my eyes

And I feel my throat constricting

As in my heart it questions why

And yet there is a calmness

In this serenity of blue

As memories wash over me

Like early morning dew

You filled my heart with laughter

Filled my soul with acts of joy

I blushed when you first kissed me

When I was nothing but a boy

We were as one in forest glades

Held hands beneath the sun

We laughed at chasing shadows

For our lives had just begun

So now I'll wipe awaythe tears

As on southern grass I lie

And the only thing I will regret

I never got to say goodbye.

A sweet innocence flows through out the poem
Leaving behind a soft lily scent, nice work.

May be it is better not to say good bye Graham?
Good byes give a kind of finalty to the relationship...
Have you read my poem, 'The Good Bye Never Said'? it is somewhere here on my page, see if you can find it?
((Hugs)))
Love, Zoya
