For some time stands still.

The Old Man On The Shore.

While walking by the shore today
I met a man quite old I'd say
He sat there staring out to sea
I wondered if he'd talk to me

I said "Hello" he did'nt hear
His face looked sad and full of fear
His gaze was glassy , faraway
Looking out beyond the bay

And then he turned and looked at me
The tears were flowing endlessly
The sea is vast and grey, and bare
I've lost a son, he's still out there

I said" I'm sure he'll turn up soon
But still he stared beyond the boom
"There's not much chance of that you see"
His ship went down in 73.

WHAT A POIGNANT STORY!!!
Graham, my heart goes out to you,
For writing such a piece, tears come
Welling up in my eyes, what can I say?
That my heart is full of grief, for that old man, out there on the bay, waiting endlessly for a son, sunk three decades away!!!
(((hugs for a lovely write Pen))))
Love you, xxx, Zoya
