Just don't.

Eternity.

i am an unholy statue,
evil as time,
carved in ice-white marble with
my arms at my sides and my head

bowed down. i stand alone.
there is no room for love in this
barren wasteland,

and less room for
more ordinary comforts.

i cannot eat.
food is blasphemy against my lips.

i cannot drink.
water is a poison that trickles down my throat,
choking me,
filling my hollow skin to the fingertips and then
freezing solid.

time keeps me its prisoner,
punishes me,
but no punishment will ever
atone for my sins.

i stand alone,
an unholy statue

forever.

Just don't? lol Now that was a silly thing to say to Tai...

I am a child of eternal naughtiness, and I have to say! This is brilliant, and quite often, how we can find ourselves feeling.

The imagery of the statue is stark and forboding. But like in Don Giovanni, statues do come alive again.

I have faith in Mozarts truth. Eternity is a long time, who knows what will blow your way, to melt your soul and save you from hell.

Didn't save Don Giovanni, but he didn't have a good woman behind, kicking his behind! lol As I say in blighty!

Poetry has a way of sinking deep within

Smiling at you
