Forgotten Companion

As eye follow the world,
And its tender form
It breathes; a twilight song.
Sombre trees willow and wave,
Gently dancing amongst shadows.

Their jaded fingers lock and twist.
Nestled beneath: moon-kissed feet
Holding the earth to darkened depths.
Encasing the heart; protecting the soul.
The backbone of growth and grounding.

A lake lazes before a luminous face,
Star flecked ebony tresses and curls surround.
Widening ripples distort his reflection, a sigh.
Tears roll as nature's hands unfold and
Reach; soaking into veins.

The sky begins to yawn and smile,
Blooming into a rosy lipped glow,
With fluffy cheeks pinched red.
The flowering force rises and warms; soothing.
A chorus radiates, lifting the land.

Slow touch, simple longing.
A silent love.
