I listened to switchfoots song The Blues while writing and some lines just stuck and made the first and last sentence of this text (that has nothing to do really with the song. the song just happened to be playing in a certain time at a certain place (:

changes

"you bend until you break"
only to find out
that it made no difference
it doesn't matter how many times
an authority tells you to speak
when your lips were tied
shut
a million light years ago
and "it'll be alright"
is just an empty phrase
costume made
for those too deplorably miserable not to believe it
and romcoms
(which are fake)

there was never enough
oxygen
for everyone to breathe normally
conclusion: mass death
in some cases (countries?)
the losers was permanently damaged
instead
an easy pick
or was it better to die?
damaged goods is never good
while death can be forgotten
because "time will heal your wounds" and
"everything will be ok"

bullshit.

time has no medical degree
if it exists
at all

still you twist and turn to
change overtime, "become a better person" and
fulfill your dreams!
when the truth is
that dreams are only alive
when you sleep
and at some point
we all have to wake up
"when the world caves in"
