A simi-love poem / written 8-4-82

Contend With

With heart in hand and mind on tap,
these few words I'd like to cap !
After all these years of learning love,
to be handed you, from God above !

As with thought and hindsight too,
I think of things I'd give to you,
such as love and joy, faith and hope,
with which to contend and with which to cope.

With my desires, with which there's few,
the things I'd want, to come from you,
are love and joy, faith and grace,
all of which are on your face.

With all the love my heart can give,
and all the joy that makes one live,
and in all the truth we must rely,
until my darling, the day we die !
