The seed of stillness

"Drop thy still dews of quietness,

Till all our strivings cease;

Take from our souls the strain and stress,

And let our ordered lives confess

The beauty of thy peace."

John Whittier (1807-1892), USA

A seed of stillness

grows

into loving silence

Illusions fall like leaves in the autumn wind

Revealed is the naked boundless beauty

beyond time and space

The same timeless here

but now fully clear

An excellent write, dear Nils.
While I am not a Quaker, I do cherish your voice of calm together with your gentle appreciation of nature. And what a splendid line, 'Illusions fall like leaves in the autumn wind'.
Applaudeth.
