After reading this year's Ridvan letter from the UHJ (Baha'i Faith)

Summons

Earth-shattering proclamations
of centuries ago

They look at me and call it traditions
culture and a creation of the feeble human mind
or successful attempts at organizing a spirituality that is inherently individual

But they must not have felt this peace
this heat that melts away distractions so I can truly see and be there for
those around me

They must not have heard the call that tugs at all our heart strings
that spurs us into action
unable to ignore the drive within us to be the civilization-building world-changing creatures we were meant to be

Surely they cannot have felt the light flow through them
turning self into nothing, and leaving only character, intelligence, reason, love, understanding and wisdom

Earth-shattering proclamations and promises of centuries ago
quietly coming true
