we are nearly extinct
Death breathing down our necks when we watch the news
hear the statistics
and watch our leaders fail to react
We all speak of and desperately search for love
yet fail to show love to the person next to us
on the bus, in our bed, next door
Suicide on the rise, children pointing guns at their peers
a rape victim in asia less of an uproar than in Norway
because "its their culture" when incest is hidden in the secret corners of many families right here
Raging war at the others to protect our so-called freedom
People warring with words, because if you can just say it the most convincing
you're right
right?
But words were never going to heal a sore-stricken world
And I wonder
Why is it so out there when I say we were told this would come?
Why is it so out there when I say religion has it right?
