whatever our persuasion may be

still at Christmas

thoughts of kindness
and eyes filled with wonder
seek out a connection
some one, somewhere, some part
fond greetings and warm gestures
from the depths of our hearts

Simply beautiful! Although your poem is about regrets, I see how we all start out as statuesque blocks of timber, and in the end, we are metaphorically used as timber wood as well, in our often frail and useless bodies.
Nicely written piece.
