The Loser

You call yourself a Loser,
But you're so much more than that.
I only wish you could see yourself through my eyes.
I don't even know you,
But you are my only friend.
You are my savior in disguise.

You, like me, have loved and lost.
You, like me, are loved and lost.
You, like me, are blind and deaf as well.
You, like me, bear these scars,
You, like me, have fallen apart,
You, like me, walk in step, in this Hell.

I know that I just met you,
But it's like I have known you my whole life.
Every conversation brightens up my day.
Times get tough, and things get crazy,
Attitudes and moods,
With every word, I slowly forget the pain.

In the beginning I was hurting,
Depressed and confused.
You knew just all the right things to say.
I can't remember your voice.
I only vaguely recall your face.
Though I look forward to hearing from you each day.

You, like me, have loved and lost,
You, like me, are loved and lost,
You, like me, are blind and deaf as well.
You, like me, don't hide your scars,
You, like me, don't fear the dark,
You, like me, walk in step through this Hell.

It's almost like you're right here,
Sitting next to me as I cry.
Wiping every tear away from my face.
I close my eyes and I can feel you.
Finally, I'm not alone.
All I want is just for you to stay.

I look up, and I don't see you.
But I can feel your touch.
A comfort that may have saved my life.
If it wasn't for you,
And for all of your kind words,
I may not be here, writing this to you tonight.

You, like me, have loved and lost,
You, like me, are loved and lost,
You, like me, are blind and deaf as well.
You, like me, share these scars.
You, like me, house broken hearts,
You, like me, forced to live, in this Hell.

Completely different people,
We are one of the same.
Something I never get to admit.
I have shared with you my weakness.
And yet you build my strength.
Because of you, I REFUSE to quit.

I only wish I could stop your suffer,
And take away your pain.
Wiping all of your sins clean.
I would draw my blood,
And lay my burden on the cross,
If it meant you could feel her love again.

You, like me, have loved and lost.
You like me, are loved, not lost.
You like me, are not blind and deaf as well.
You, like me, wear these scars.
You, like me, reach for the stars,
You, like me, will survive in this Hell.

Always and forever,
You shall never walk alone.
My heart will be your shelter, and my arms will be your home.
