Looking at the early morning view of the Yadkin River from my back yard.

Reflections on the Yadkin

As I visualize Early Morning
Water illusion effects
Nature's natural card calling
Attention to upside down artifacts

Matching upright watery shores
That blend as one image
A magic designed as a guise
By timely time gauged

By perfect symmetry
So one cannot decipher where it begins
And ends, displaying light shadow mysteries
Such that it deceives visual origins

So we do not know what is real
We do not know what is in air
We do not know what is a feat
We do not know what is a veil

To hide mother earth's intent
Of starkly portraying what is seen
Does not always consent
Or agree with what is concealed
