Time is Disappearing

A sense of urgency prevails
My mess of a life's disinfectant
Is losing items not used
And artifacts of a past that is gone

Pursuit of aloneness that aligns
With my loss of dramatic damage
Amid a virtual cast of characters
That have voices but no essence
Where the phoenix of lost self-worth
Is reborn to a needy soul

I have peace of mind that
Descendent legacy has a path
That is assured for inner calm
Independent of their origin's
Story of joy and dismay

A needful life that pretends
All is well for those who have need
To believe in my existence
I know I must dispel an urgent desire
So my end of story
Needs no director's chair

I wish these last years
Maybe more fulfilling
As I narrow my focus
To pass on stories and events
So others can gain value
From my personal trepidations

Faith exists in chapters to come
Where chances approach
To reconnect with those
That are a part
Of my youthful past

This is a somewhat sombre poem, but effectively and poetically explains the protagonist's sense of Life's ending season. Something all we oldies think from time to time I feel. Getting old is often tinged with sadness and of course retrospection. The last stanza is epic!
