Leak in my chest

I think there is a leak in my chest,

I feel the fluid seeping.

Over my ribs into my stomach

sloshing with my organs.

I think there is a leak in my chest,

I fear it isn't closing.

My heart is broke and blood

is rising, up my chest and out my throat.

I think there is a leak,

Life's rope is slick and bleak

someone please freeze time

so maybe I can save my life

I think I have a problem

No one else can solve,

My spirit knows a single truth

My soul continues to cover up

I think there is a leak in my chest,

I feel the fluid seeping.

Over my ribs into my stomach

sloshing with my organs.

Someone help me if you dare,

Can anyone hear,

Is anyone there? No, only silence

doubt and lonely dispair

No one froze time

to help me save my own life,

I drown in fluids only real

inside my mind

My soul covered up a lonely truth

My spirit faught with ever nail

every tooth,

I had to let you go, but when you

left, you made the hole

Time, what an unlikely foe

it took its sweet sweet time

to drag me down. allowed

my sorrow to sew

Time is what killed my spirit,

using my soul,

But you killed my trust,

You made the hole.

I think there is a leak in my chest,

I feel the fluid seeping.

Over my ribs, and into my stomach

sloshing with my organs.

I know there is a leak in my chest,

I watched when it was formed.

Never did i think it would leave me so tattered,

raged and torn.

I know there is a leak,

in my chest,

left by love's scorn.

It burned me even when

I tried so hard to let go.

The quality of poetry on this site at the moment is so great. This piece is well crafted and the metaphor kept hanging until the end. I liked it very much.

Well crafted poem is right. I loved the repetition

There is a time element to this like a big pendulum swinging back and forth, counting down, and a submerging feeling, sinking at the same time. The repetitious theme makes this so to me. Very powerful evocative imagery. Well done!

I think there is a leak in everyone's heart, which seeps and sloshes and burns when we try to let go. Loved the way you put that in this well crafted poem.
