Sonnet 6

Beginner's mind, they say:

no predetermined outcomes

or perceptions. Openness.

Awe before the moment.

Tender footstep pressing tufts

of dewdrop-beaded grass.

River flowing. Sparkles of light

amid the gush and foam.

Far below our agitation,

stillness. Sing from that place.

In silence, sing and breathe.

Embrace the offerings

of peace, of light. Yes, be

embraced. Be held. Behold.

Beginners mind. I recall that as a Buddhist term we used: to be open - no previous convictions. And that is how this poem speaks to me; it's evocation of a natural order that we realise.

Bravo Thomas!

What can One say? A simple poem on the face of it, but in fact filled with the abundance of universal truth. I especially liked:
"Sing from that place.
In silence, sing and breathe.
Embrace the offerings
of peace, of light. Yes, be
embraced. Be held. Behold."

Blessings, Allen
