Frames
Like frames in a graphic comicMeaning slipping between the lines
She was writing moderately successful novels
While he fed an acquired obsessive compulsive mania by composing bad poetry
He would hang on every word she wrote
Until she left him, hanging...
( Later after various resurrections
or was it only répétitions?
In retrospect some insight into the conundrum occurred
But it didn't change anything)
Some mornings waking up in a sort of mirror world
he sees her reflection there
becoming unable to divine the words from the person
spirit from being,(
was she ever even really there, he thinks
she was but he's never sure
unless she writes him to be.
Where the frames in a graphic comic...shift focus and position
Meeting in a forest on an island in the summer by the sea
Catching an echo of a voice in the pages of a book
Half asleep in mediations of dust and light
Meaning slipping
between the l i n e s . . .
