This reads like an incantation or a fragment of a larger myth. The imagery is lush, especially "broken shadows soaked through in a penumbra of rain," which has a nice weight to it. But the poem feels more like a beginning than a complete piece. It sets a mood and then ends abruptly, with that colon trailing off as if waiting for instructions. A little more grounding, a figure moving through the trees or a clearer sense of who is dreaming, would help the atmosphere stick. Still, the language is lovely.
