The 14th Installment of my series (Pilar)

Take the Plunge

Risks have been one thing in life
We as people have had to make
Some people dwindle on the edge
While others want the line to break
I've had the time to feel the wind
That could push me to my break
I felt the adrenaline rush to jump
But tripped on my past mistakes
Thoughts of failures held me back
The sweet pleasure the plunge could hold
I've taken the fall once before
And have felt the pain of time scold
One fall had bruised my ego
And the adrenaline drive had disappeared
All at once the chills of pain attacked me
These thoughts arrival is what I feared
It took time to slowly recover
From what I thought to be betrayal
I readied myself for a new cliff
With new hope that I wouldn’t fail
When at last I jumped I found out
My net wasn’t secure at all
Almost killed by the rocks below
I’d never take another fall
Afraid for my life and well being
I sat on the edge and looked
At the ones who’ve jumped and fell
And all the strength it took
I think to myself what fun it must be
To have someone to hold your hand
To have someone be there for you
To have a secure net in which to land
I've thought about my pure chances
Of being able to jump again
I wouldn’t know where to start
Or rather where I would begin
Until that day when my wounds heal
I’ll watch as others take their fall
And pray that next plunge won’t hurt me
That it won’t scare me at all
