Fairytales can come true and so can dreams. Mine did.

For my gentle loving knight.

A Place Called Peace ~ A Fairytale

In her box of treasures
Down below the stones
Hidden by the sorrows
That once were her own
Wrapped in tainted tissue
That dried the tears once shed
Torn and broken to pieces
Was her heart shattered and dead

But then came the dreams
Of a gallant loving knight
Gently taking her hand
And leading her to the light
He came to visit often
Hovering above her bed
She almost felt his breath
As he whispered and said,

Come with me sad maiden
And let me take you where
We shall be together
In a land so sweet and fair

This place is our beginning
Its wonders never cease
Come with me sad maiden
To the place called Peace

Upon her awakening
She'd find herself alone
No one lay beside her
Her gallant knight was gone
In her waking hours
She passed the time away
By thinking of the dreams
That lingered throughout the day
'til once again in slumber
She'd wait for his return
To bring with him the love
For which she truly yearned

And then at last it happen
A miracle, I suppose
The day she awakened and found
The lone red rose
Its scent was so fragrant
Each petal perfectly formed
The stem adorned with leaves
But nary a single thorn
She picked it up and trembled
When she found beneath a note
Written in eloquent script
Were these words her knight wrote

Come with me sad maiden
And let me take you where
We shall be together
In a land so sweet and fair

This place is our beginning
Its wonders never cease
Come with me sad maiden
To the place called Peace

As she held the rose
And read the note in hand
She saw before her eyes
The appearing of something grand
This was not a dream
Oh, no, she was awake
For she felt the world around her
Quiver and shake

And there before her stood
In this day of reality
Was the gentle loving knight
That willed himself to be
Present in this world
To take his maiden love
To the land of their beginning
In this place of peace and doves

Now down in her box of treasures
Lay a rose, a note, and this
A gentle gallant knight's
Eternal loving kiss
When the lid opens
The fragrance of the rose
Arises as whispered music
Plays his song that goes,

Come with me sweet maiden
And let me take you where
We shall dance together
In a land so sweet and fair

This place is our beginning
Its wonders never cease
Come with me sweet maiden
Let's love in the land of Peace

i almost cried while reading this...i think i still have a tear in the corner of my eye...this is more than beautiful, dear Kathy, this is more than a poem of love...it is like you took out your soul and laid it before our eyes so that we could catch a glimpse of how wonderful your soul and feelings are...

lastromantichero The PoetBay support member heart!
Come with me sweet maiden
And I will fulfil your dreams
For you have entered to my heart
I am captured so it seems
And it is such sweet rapture
This captivity i'm in
And i your willing prisoner
Not merely from a whim
For sweet and gentle maiden
Thy beauty do I laud
and know the love within you now
Is sent from heaven above

Some body loves you sweet maiden xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxylk Michael
