Heartsigh

I understand what you mean
and I see our problems
I know why we need to step back and away from this

But when I look into your eyes
when you make me laugh by just being yourself

I can't imagine ever wanting to be with anyone else

I see you are sad
I see you are confused
I see you don't know what direction to go

Even if a part of me wants to beg you to choose me
I swallow it

I can't stop believing in us, in you
I can't tear myself away from you

But I can stand stronger and taller than before
and be just me

whether or not you believe
in the rightness of us

Stan Cooper The PoetBay support member heart!
I don't know about "the rightness of us", but I do know
there is a lot of "rightness" in your fine poem
