My face
that you adore
is no longer yours

You chose to step back and let go of my hand, of me

You look at me with tears and sorrow, wishing so hard that you still felt that way
knowing that being with me feels healthy and clean
and safe

But I am done mourning the death of us
I am done crying because you are gone from me
I am no longer yours

I am mine

John Ashleigh
The roller-coaster of a love lost is somehow not as sad - as in the end you have found yourself, and found what you need out of life. Although this poem is heartfelt, it also makes me happy that you are past the mourning - and starting anew.

You're very talented with your choice of wording - the format is also interesting. Please, keep writing! 5/5.

Regards,
John.

While there is at first a tinge of loss and perhaps regret, the last line affirms a sense of courage and strength . . . the poem is simply perfect.
