Sir John Southworth an ancestor - I am related to through my mothers line.

TWO GREAT MEN! (completed)

Now on the face of it:
Sir John Southworth

And

Dr. Muhammad Wasem Mazz - had nothing in common!

John - lived and died - centenary's apart from each other!
Wasem died the other week - born in the last centenary!
John - was of the old religion - Catholic - a Christan!
Now Mahmoud Wasem was a Muslim - what branch - don't - know that - why , why should I!
John - was a priest - when it was - wise to keep your head down - and keep it , attached!
Both men had much in common - as you will read!
Johns - parish was Westminster - London
The plagued - broke out - as it had dun since the 1300's - it were then 1654.
Now - John - had been - warned - many times to keep his head down! John - just smiled - kept to his believes! He was like that - was John!
He were arrested at least twenty times! Spent time in The Clink - yes there was such a prison! Well - to John - it were a place to hang his hat. John , went about his way of life - way of work. He'd - arrested more than a score times!

John - administered - to those - dieing from - The Plague - and talking - hands on hear!
Ear close up the plague victims - lips so he could hear and listen to their last words - gave - what comfort he could.
Well - some one decided to arrest - John - this time the turnkey - LOOKED - Johns - cell
Duly - John was tried - charge - TREASON! He was after all a - PRIEST! Now John - told to deny - he was a - priest! John - just smiled: '' Deny? BUT - I am a priest - it's what I do! '' - he smiled.

Now - '' senceble '' , priests of the old and new Christianity. Followed the - money!
Those with the money - as soon as the plague broke out - left town - fast! Of course they had need of priests - to save their - soles - as they were saving their skins! John - was unrepentant - why should he be!
Well - John - was found guilty - sentenced to a traitors death!

John was born Sir John Southworth - his father - a land owner in the county of Lancashire - was the sheriff of the county! So - John - could of avoided all that!

The execution - was - gory! So you are duly warned!

It involves being hung - cut down before before death

Then disembowel - organs pulled out - then burnt in the

Sight of the condemned man

Genitals - cut off - inserted in too the condemned mans mouth!

Arms - legs axed off!

Then the head axed off!

The torso - cut in to quarters!

Well - they showed - mercy - let - John - hang till death took him!

Now - John - was born Sir John Southworth - son of a landowner in Lancashire - not short of money - his dad - was the Sheriff of the county - so had influence!

It were decided - that the Catholics - could gather all - Johns - body parts.
Stitch him up - and take Johns body - back to France - where he had been ordained. In the 1930's - workmen found - Johns remains. His body returned to London - encased in silver - lays now in Westminster Cathedral. Formally - Johns parish.

Dr. Muhammad Wasem Mazz - a Muslim - a Doctor - a pediatrician - last one - remaining in Aleppo - Syria. His dedication - commitment - to the children - in his care - undaunted - while bombs - barrel bombs - full of explosives - scrap iron - dropped on - his Al Qds Hospital - Aleppo - Muhammad - staid - doing all that he could to help - save the children - he died - with the children - mothers - fathers - fellow staff - nurses.

Now - Muhammad - could of fled - as many have - took to a boat crossed the seas of tears - been offered - jobs - the world short of his skills.
Muhammad - chose to stay - he died - with the children - in his caring love!

Story of two men separated only by time. Both cared - governed by their humanity - they had so much in common!

Their humanity that made them great human being!

Brave courageous men both allowing no one or no thing to stop them from their true and sacred purpose of living. Often heroes today are sports figures. These, of whom you have written, in my opinion, are the purest of heroes. I watched a film called, The Letters, the past evening. It is the story of Mother Teresa of Calcutta. I have admired her work as a person who gives sacrificially. I count her as a hero too along with many others who have done works of the kind you have written about. Thank you for sharing today. Kathy.
