THERE WAS A MAN

There was a man , who lived long long ago
History events made him famous
Some may say infamous
Though that came much much later
After his passing away
It were those who came after him
That came later of course

He could not read or write - so maybe he were
Dyslexic - to long ago now to know for sure
He thought deeply
He had to depended - had to trust - others - to write down his
Thoughts - his conclusions - his philosophy
That can be said about many - of course

I have read some history books on the man
Watched documentary's on the man
His life and times - those he loved - and loved him
Of one he loved above all - who he trussed - never betrayed
Were mutual inclined
Over the years - looking back - I feel sad - those who came after
Just never remember him - as they should - let alone truly understand
The man - maybe I do - maybe I do not - I like to think I do
I am sad - all the same. Of the way , his thinking , misinterpreted
With mean intent

A very sad story indeed. To never be able to read a book or write your own thoughts must be the biggest tragedy of all. But he knew love and had someone to help him write, hopefully to help him read as well. A person can never be completely understood by anyone else. There is too much kept inside. Thanks for sharing this story.
