WAY BACK THEN! (With agknowlegedmant to Helen Paquin work)

As I get older
My mind slips
Slips back in
Time
I remember
When we had
Proper winters!
Snow lay deep
Foreshore froze!
The sands changed
To snow white!
All-around
So deep were
The snow
Older kids
Cut out blocks
Of snow - built
IGLOO'S!
Snow would last
FOR MONTHS!
That's no lie!
Oh happy days!

Now I have lived to see global worming!
Sad now are the times I now live in!

Yes ken, we had hard winters when my kids were
small. One day the neighbor's car was buried in
the middle of our country road from the snow.
Only antenna stuck up so you knew a car was there.
People got out though. The car was stuck in snow at
their driveway. Right, those were the years.
