Notebook: October 21

Soliloquy

of the sparrow

as I drink coffee

*

October aprils

my summer-weary heart

*

Loquacious

as a rushing stream

he calms into prayer

*

50 pairs of socks

30 shirts

20 pairs of boxers

*

the Gang of Four

reads Sumerian poetry

I love a line of cuneiform

*

do not deface

do not mutilate

sweet Silence

'Sweet silence' is what often gets interrupted. And that lot of 'laundry' not sure why my imagery chose that rather than other states of garment... pleasant enjoyment to read. :-)

I had a good chuckle at your mishearing of The Gang of Four.

Yayāti
These look like sweet, little jottings in a notebook. Almost like poetic journalling of everyday experience: sparrows, coffee, prayers, Sumerian poetry, and silence. I like them all. I am not sure about the actual meaning of "aprils." Is it like the Latin "aperire" meaning "to open"?
