Mid-January Rain?

- three inspirations happening here... one, josephus' Climate Change (which happened to be posted the next day of a weird weather event where I live... so I'd been reflecting on that).  And then Thomas D's Pantoum challenge.  I ordinarily never write form poetry 'cause I find them very difficult!  But voilà, decided I'd try... eesh, please bear with me :)

There are some who swear blind

"No such thing as climate change"

I challenge them to try to find

An explanation for all the strange

"No such thing as climate change"

Yet it's downpouring rain in January!

A consideration for all the strange

Surely'd be better than their money!

See, it's downpouring rain in January

It’s difficult to ignore face-smacking facts

Surely'd be better than all of their money

The damages won't on their own retract

So difficult to ignore face-smacking facts

Yet they go on, obstinate, counting profits

The damages won't on their own retract

Until we start to do something to fix it!

Yet they go on, being obstinate, counting profits

As if it has more value than the clear transition!

Unless we soon start to do something to fix it

Fear settles we'll miss all chance for restoration

one trick pony The PoetBay support member heart!
i think the ones who "swear blind" don't read poetry,
for the rest of us, this is spot on, and finely written.
