With a Dream

As cliché as it sounds, it all starts with a dream.

One day you wake up and find that she's there,

waiting for your touch in the morning’s first beam.

So, you tread with light steps, with utmost care.

One day you wake up, and look—she’s there!—

staring at you with bright, sensuous eyes,

and you tread with light steps, with utmost care.

Though she’s got another lover, you realize

that she’s staring at you with bright, sensuous eyes—

you touch her cheeks softly and kiss her lips.

Though she’s got another lover, you realize

that your soul is covered in love’s deep eclipse.

You touch her cheeks and kiss her lips—

as cliché as it sounds, this always starts with a dream,

where your soul’s covered with love’s deep eclipse

as she waits for your touch in the morning’s first beam.

Beautifully constructed. You make the poem appear to have been written effortlessly, which I know definitely not to be the case! Bravo!
