I'm Pleased That I've Been Able to Amuse You
“Look on the bright side,” she says,Fully aware that that's not what I usually
Do, and it's not what I've done through
The course of the morning. I want to go
Out. There's nowhere to go. I want
To stop blowing my nose, but I can't.
I want to get onto my bike and go
Screaming across some country road
Nearby, defying the speed limit, all
Of the world, but the weather is lousy.
I think it will rain. I want to be rid
Of the god-awful moron who sits
In the White House, and all of his
Followers, brain-dead and ignorant,
Worse for mankind than that damned
Little virus which holds me in place,
Allowing this woman, who's contentedly
Reading, to look up and start laughing
At me.
