Sonnet

should i venture a wee jotting       about the day just past
the feast of julian of norwich       in the anglican calendar

should i mention       the two poems i sent to mary
for her charitable scrutiny       i wrote them when i was thirty

i put on clothes at half past noon       without taking a shower first
& checked my "snail" mailbox       & found a cubic foot of air

i'm working on something new       about the meditation room
of the freedom trail clinic       this room doesn't actually

(y'know) exist yet       but i shall launch       a quiet campaign
to get one made       worth floating to the higher-ups

it's quarter of two in the morning       supposed to snow
briefly wetly in these parts       it's happened before

in boston       in may       i was nearly eight the last time
young & uneasy       among the bygone triple-deckers

This form also suits you well. I equally love your formal and free verse. You're a versatile poet indeed!
