practice. from praxis, i think,
but don't hold me to that.
my practice involves several awakening sips
of instant coffee at 1.18 am.
my practice paces the floor with roethke,
peruses forward day by day.
it also includes chair-prayer: twenty,
perhaps thirty, minutes of trying to be still.
my practice is learning to mend fences,
to list & to express my gratitudes.
it is currently re-reading h a williams,
anglican monk of blessed memory.
& recognizing, amidst kerfuffles & jollies,
that the world ain't bein' run by me.
