Why Little Guys Only Win on TV

They'll root for any underdog who struggles
Against government or corporate oppression
If the struggle's fake and on TV. Stop those
Spies, those cops, those chief executives!
(And pass the chips.) Let freedom ring,
And plucky little men and women triumph
Over evil...on TV, but, otherwise, they have
No use for protesters or anyone with
Grievances. They hate rocking boats,
And take a certain satisfaction from
The scenes of cops out beating on the heads
Of real-life underdogs. They want those
People sent to prison, want no part of efforts
To restrain what their employers do.
They want to see the streets kept safe,
And, more than that, they like to be assured
That their own lives will not be burdened
By concerns for those whose struggles
Are not scripted, those who are not fake.

Tend to agree there's a lot of ugliness in this world and how we allow things to be set up even when we know they're ridiculously counterproductive for anyone's good. The 'top' few who run things are perfect representations of how money and the power that comes with it seriously makes a brain become demented! Your title made me instantly reply: because he's too good for the kind of world we have. Well written, thanks.
