If You Have to Explain What You've Written, You've Failed
I snort, at once a sort of laughAnd an expression of derision.
Each of these poets has had
To provide an explanation
Of what they have written,
As what they have written,
Said to be poems, are hideous,
Stillborn, grotesque things
From which no meaning
Can be drawn. They write,
But so poorly they have
To write more! And they're
Published and honored,
Arms upraised, bearing
A line of little black coffins,
Each containing a fetus which
Perished before it could grow
Into art.
