If You Have to Explain What You've Written, You've Failed

I snort, at once a sort of laugh
And an expression of derision.
Each of these poets has had
To provide an explanation
Of what they have written,
As what they have written,
Said to be poems, are hideous,
Stillborn, grotesque things
From which no meaning
Can be drawn. They write,
But so poorly they have
To write more! And they're
Published and honored,
Arms upraised, bearing
A line of little black coffins,
Each containing a fetus which
Perished before it could grow
Into art.

It is true, there are those who would praise a fly infested dung heap for its aestetic and or artistic merit. There are also those, me included, that would scratch our head in bewilderment at how some conceive anothers garbage as a work of art in any of its guises.
It is not for me to interpret the thoughts of the creator but to find my own on what has been presented. That is all I can ever hope to achieve.

I'm fine being judged against incoherent poets and people who call their yammering poetry.

Why take mick out of those who write, be little them!
Judge ye not least you be judged!
