Xmas 2020

You caught me by surprise

this year

like a cardinal darting on reddest wing

through urban alleyways,

like confetti at a seminar,

like a bluejay in a snowstorm.

You have warmed my heart

like a recollected hug

in the year of distancing.

Thomas your use of birds in stark contrast to surrounds is exquisite. My mind races to see these unexpected flashes of colour and sights as to embrace their exceptional fleeting presence. A beautiful metaphor for an offhand and unique oblique but positive Christmas experience. Simple love the line “confetti at a seminar” BRAVO ZULU!
