dear elusive one

`

once you were elusive   now

   you are all but gone

once you felt my hands on your waist

lucky waist   you said

lucky hands   i said

such sensations are long-lived

   almost unbearable

to be so tangibly intangible

i held potential

and you felt possibilities

we made the mistake to end all mistakes

   we assumed we had time

we had time

the throes of reality have caught us up

and it is harsh

i could say   i will never let go

but those are words without meaning

i will say   we are running out of time

This definitely gives the feeling of something slipping away. A gentle lament for something inevitable... a growing sadness which is expressed so touchingly.

"lucky waist you said
lucky hands i said" - this part creates an image I like very much, makes me smile, too...

"i held potential
and you felt possibilities" - this part strikes so many thoughts and emotions, but I wouldn't be able to explain it.

Love your style and how your words are so effective at creating moments the reader can easily feel completely immersed into. Merci :)

Original and poignantly expressive. Read it twice just to feel the emotional tone.
