But the worm already knows

Actually, the sun,
The scant clouds ( almost designed, well, maybe they are),
The trusty garden fork

The trillion other picturesque things,
(Should I use the word quintessential?)
Precision timed elements shall we say?
The robin, the wriggly garden worms,
The longed for crisp Spring air
The pleasurable effort of turning over heavy garden soil ,
In readiness for vegetable planting...

Does not mask the basic task
Let's just say...
Necessities , I'm doing necessities!

Spreading chicken manure,
Doesn't quite fit the ambience

Strikes me, necessities, generally,
dont get enough kudos.

Cleaning toilets, keeping the washing machine filled
Washing dishes
Delivering post
Sitting with a mourner
Listening to memories
Making a meal

But you know,
The ordeal of necessities, reduces the ordeals

Just saying robin, worm, sky, sun, - but you guys already know all this.
If you could write, your lines would be far more poetic, written from the heart, gained by experience.
So, you can't write, so you do you.
You sing, and wriggle and brighten and shine, to make this task a beautiful moment.

(Turns the soil, scatters the pellets, smiles at smug musing knowledge)

one trick pony The PoetBay support member heart!
Making ritual of necessity serves us well, and in many ways, as you've written so very well.

I like the way you’ve woven a mixture of styles into a beautiful blended piece.
