This is my "the poet as Alice in Wonderland" poem, followed by its sequel (with an additional exclamation mark).

escape!

escape!

to live among the daffodil folk . . .
slip down the rainslickened drainpipe . . .
suddenly pop out
the GARGANTUAN SPOUT . . .
minuscule as alice, shout
yippee-yi-yee!
in wee exultant glee
to be leaving behind the
LARGE
THREE-DENALI GARAGE.

Escape!!

You are too beautiful,
too innocent,
too inherently lovely
to merely reflect the sunís splendor ...

too full of irrepressible candor
to remain silent,
too delicately fawnlike
for a world so violent ...

Come, my beautiful Bambi
and I will protect you ...
but of course you have already been lured away
by the dew-laden roses ...

Ooh yes, Mike, escape is always pleasant. We enjoy the exuberance of 'escape!', particularly the SPOUT SHOUT, and the mention of Bambi in 'Escape!!' Our FT watched the film when she was little and wept for some time after Bambi's mother had died :>) <3
