Envelopes you
You walk on
Not knowing
To what or where
Your walking on & on
Waiting for the mist to clear
When clears then you are aware
Surroundings of changed some what

So true, that kind of mist can come down and last a while in the manner you described in your words here. Your concluding lines allude to that overtaking effect and presents that feeling of having lost chunks of time ("When clears then you are aware / Surroundings of changed some what").
