And It Feels Like You Are Here Again

I send you aerial love letters every evening
From a chair before the fireplace nearly asleep
I scan your pictures on a mantle painted ebony
A soft remembrance flickers on the shadowed wall

My fingers rub the silver ring that you had given me
Our carved initials glisten to my gentle touch
My heart plays music that surrounds the room so lovingly
And it feels like you are here again.
