To Lynn Hill. I am imagining how it felt to climb The Nose as a free climber, the first person. Setting a record for others.
My new heroine
Thank you

Awesome, doesn't come close

The skys' truthful atrocity
Does not intimidate her, more,
It completes the jigsaw,
Satisfying, even if temporarily, her singular appetite.
Fanning the flame of ambition that dares.

All yabbering thoughts are rejected.
One word remains...
"How?"
"How?"
"How?"

The sky, the river, the breeze, the sounds,
Even the hawk on the wing
And Lynn,
Have their inner quiet fed by this spiritual mercy here.

All thoughts are channelled to the feeling of the view.
The adrenaline saturates,
The high from on high.

The time is upon her -
The Yin,
The Yang.
Readiness and Fear.
Equilibrium in all things

Her hand touches The Nose
Every decision ever condensed to her next hand hold.

Alan J Ripley The PoetBay support member heart!
I've only just discovered how good your poems are,
So far I've only read a few, liked all of them from your first poem to your last one. (Awesome doesn't come close ) Love the idea of catching a bird song and putting it in my pocket for later, When we were young we used to do that with kisses.
Think I lost all of mine, Had a hole in my pocket. look forward to reading the others..
Regards Alan.
