A reminder to myself.

You aren't their definition of beauty,
Your truth isn't their truth,
Your interests don't need to align with theirs,
You don't need to re-live their fantasised youth,
You're allowed to be yourself,
Only you can allow yourself that,
You don't need to justify who you are,
What you like,
How you dress,
How you speak,
How you choose to spend your time,
The decisions you make,
No one but you can choose that,
You can define your boundaries,
And they will have to adhere to them,
You can define their control over you,
Let them call it defiance if need be,
Push back if people try to push in,
Lock the door if necessary,
Focus only on yourself.

Defiance is certainly the word that your poem describes. I agree with what you say but think you may have omitted one thing - and that is all these self-centered acts and boundaries are perfectly okay just as long as none of them harm other people.
I like the way you have structured this poem. Reading it I can sense a great deal of energy behind your pen. :)
