This one is a bit political, which I am so not lol But I was asked to write an Elegy for the word Woman. I think they meant the challenge as a joke. Ah-ha! the joke is on them!

Death of the word Woman

Woman, sweet Woman, stand up and see your perilous fate;
Hold your ground! For you they do come -- your identity they will take;
Now they steal your pronouns -- now they invade your space;
Next, they erase --- the very fabric of your face;
Mother, dear Mother
Has your nature all but gone
Have they taken all your nurture
Disappearing with the dawn

Man, strong and wise, how can you allow this unjust
Writing all your bills and putting rapist in jails with us!
It's not a hard journey, to create for them a safe space
Side by side with us, their counterparts, but with their own face!
Sleep, Dear One, you're WOKE too much
This movement you're on
May make you out of touch
When it starts Disappearing with the dawn
